As the tech world marches on to thinner and lighter devices, LG has revealed that they'll probably be the first in line. Introducing their 2.2mm thin LCD panels for smartphones, the 5.2-inch panel on display was not only about as thin as cardboard but sported the ability to display Full HD 1080p resolutions. The new LCD panel uses Advanced One-Glass-Solution (OGS) to create a better touchscreen experience. Crafted using dual flexible printed circuits placed between the panel the number of lines on the panel has been reduced by 30%.

So far, LG's LCD panel beats the performance of all other current full HD LCD panels in the market. Other tech specs include a brightness of up to 535 nits and an Ambient Contrast Ratio of 2.74:1 based on 10000 lux means that the panel will work quite well under direct sunlight. No news yet on when these panels will be introduced but rumours suggest that they are intended for LG's next upcoming flagship smartphone.
