While most people would only eye smartphones these days, many people are something simple. It's for them that LG has announced a new phone called the LG Folder 2 in South Korea. This phone is a simple 4G flip phone that is targeted at senior citizens and anyone who just wants a basic phone to use.

According to official news statement (in Korean), the LG Folder 2 has 4G connectivity and two screens instead of one. The first means it'll have good connection speed, so you wouldn't have issues with slow web browsing. As for the second screen, it's a 2.8-inch monochrome display for notifications. LG did not mention what operating system it's using, but it could be Android Go.

Aside from that, the LG Folder 2 is quite basic as it only comes with a Snapdragon 210 chipset, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Other features include the 2MP main camera and SOS key at the back of the phone, as well as an AI voice assistant button on the keypad. It's also a very light device at 129 grams. There's one problem though: Price.  At KRW19800 (~RM706), this phone isn't exactly cheap for a feature phone.

We doubt the phone will be released here in Malaysia, but would you consider buying it for your elders who refuse to use smartphones if it launches here? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
