For those of you who have to pay taxes, it's time to learn how to pay them online, especially if you don't want to make a trip to the nearest physical office. The government has officially from next year, the Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) will stop accepting tax payments by mail or courier.

The new policy will be put in place starting from 1 January 2021. According to Sinar Harian, this is the LHDN's move to push for more users to start making tax payments via online platforms. For instance, those who have a Maybank account can do so via Maybank2u.com. You can also use your credit card to pay on LHDN's ByrHASiL platform.

However, do note that the termination for payments via mail or courier isn't a blanket termination. LHDN has confirmed that real estate gains tax (RPGT), public entertainment income tax, holding tax, and compound taxes can still be paid this way. If you have any inquiries, you can make them on this website.

So, for those of you who are taxable, just bear in mind that you can't mail your payments in anymore. Having said that, do any of you still do that or have you moved on to online payment modes? Let us know which is your preferred payment method and stay tuned to TechNave for more news.
