When it comes to telephoto lenses, most phones would have at least 2MP up to 50MP on rare occasions. However, well-known leakster Ice Universe tweeted that the vivo X100 Pro+ could have the first 200MP telephoto camera.

Not much information was given, but he claimed that the alleged 200MP telephoto camera would have a zoom from 1x to 100x. However, he did say that the 200MP is just a figure on paper which the phone could boost up the megapixels. He assumed the 200MP camera should be able to produce images of 18MP even with 10x zoom-in shots.

On a small note, he also said Samsung would continue using the same telephoto for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. To refresh your memory, the current telephoto on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is still 10MP but capable of digitally zooming up to 100x, as well as having an optical zoom of 3x and 10x.

This is the first time we heard about the vivo X100 Pro+ and we assume that the company will continue to work with ZEISS for its camera-centric phone lineup. Currently, the vivo X90 uses a 50MP Sony IMX866 (main + OIS) + 12MP (ultrawide) + 12MP (telephoto) triple rear camera setup, and the photos it produces are most impressive.
