The world of instant photography is targeted to grow again with the new announcement from Leica. The Leica SOFORT is the company’s first compact, instant camera that builds upon the previously released Fujifilm Instax mini platform, but with enhanced features and looks.

It has a fixed 60mm (34mm equivalent) lens with an F12.7 aperture, an integrated flash, eight operation modes, 1/8 to 1/400s mechanical shutter and a rear optical 0.37x viewfinder. It accepts Fujifilm Instax mini film pack, and Leica will be releasing three new instant film pack options: a colour film pack with 10 exposures, a colour film double pack with 20 exposures, and a monochrome film pack with 10 exposures.

The SOFORT will come in three colour combinations – white & black, orange & black, and mint & black. No pricing has yet to be announced, but we expect with the Leica branding, it will not be in the realm of affordable. Stay tuned to TechNave as we bring more news on the SOFORT.
