Leica released 3 new cameras and 1 new lens - starting from RM19550 to RM68970

Photography fans in Malaysia are in for a treat. Recently, Leica released 3 new cameras and 1 lens for a more immersive photography experience. These are the cameras and lens Leica has to offer.

Leica SL2 in Silver

The Leica Sl2 in Silver looks like the silver Leica M and Leica R camera classics. It sports a silver anodised top plate and base plate. Notably, it has the same specs as the existing series model in black. Plus, it features a 47 MP CMOS sensor with a sensitivity range of up to ISO 50000. It can also be triggered remotely via the Leica FOTOS app and transferred via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Leica SL2 in Silver

The Leica SL2 in silver will be available globally at all Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store and authorised dealers starting now. The retail price will be RM35,275.00. Interestingly, Leica offers 2 kits to match this camera. Firstly, the silver Leica SL2 is available in a kit with the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f/2.8 ASPH for RM45210.00. Secondly, the camera features a silver anodised design version and the classic Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH. That includes M- Adapter L and is available for RM68970.00.

Leica Q3

The Leica Q3 features the new BSI-CMOS sensor with Triple-Resolution Technology. You can also create RAW images with either 18, 36 or 60MP resolution using the DNG format and processed JPEG files. On top of that, it allows close-up shots from a minimum focusing distance of 17 cm. This is possible thanks to the integrated macro mode.

Leica Q3

In addition, you can also zoom to the focal lengths of 28, 35, 50, 75 mm, and 90 mm via the extended digital zoom feature. Furthermore, the IP52 certification implies that Leica Q3 provides protection against dust and spray water. The camera is also suitable for iPhone and iPad thanks to the Leica FOTOS cable. Most notably, it can record video at 8k resolution and highly efficient codecs such asH.265 and Apple's ProRes. The Leica Q3 will be available globally at all Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store and authorised dealers starting now. The retail price is RM29570.00.

Leica Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH

The new Summilux-M features a standard focal length of 50 mm and 11 aperture blades for a visible rounder bokeh. The closest focusing distance has improved from 70cm to 45 cm. The lens hood also sports a round design with a focal length of 50 mm. Moreover, it can easily be attached and removed manually.

Leica Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH

Thanks to the “Made by Leica” tech, the Summilux-M can be used with the Leica SL2 and the SL2-S via the M-Adapter L. According to the company, the focal length classic is suitable for all current and future M cameras. The retail price of the M lens will be RM19550.00 for the black version and RM20770.00 for the silver version.

Leica M11 Monochrome

This Leica M11 Monochrome is made for black-and-white photography. This camera is suitable for the composition of pictures solely through light and shadow. It also features a monochrome multi-resolution full-format sensor for sharper black-and-white images. You can also create RAW files in DNG formats or JPEGs with either 18, 36, or 60MP resolution.

Leica M11 Monochrome

In addition, it features an ISO range of 125 to 200000 for a more flexible photography experience. It also sports 256GB internal storage and supports the Leica FOTOS app. On top of that, this phone is compatible with iPhones and iPads as an accessory. You can also control the camera remotely by app and transfer pictures via Bluetooth or a USB-C cable. The retail price for it will be RM44450.00.
