Lenovo IdeaPad Touch P1 Malaysia Preview:
The IdeaPad P1 is one of the devices Lenovo introduced during CES, back in January. It took them quite a while to figure out the release calendar, but hail to Lenovo’s masterminds. The 10.1 inch IdeaPad P1 will hit stores in Q4 of this year, probably around Christmas. As most Lenovo products, it is a business oriented slate and will run on Windows 7.
Lenovo IdeaPad Touch P1: Processor & Performance
The IdeaPad P1 is one of the tens of tablets to pack an Oak Trail processor, namely a single core, 1.5 GHZ chip. These new processors are a little superior to Atom chips, but not by much, as tests said they have a 10% overall performance boost in comparison with Atom chips. Still, they should offer superior power management and a significant increase in HD decoding, something previous mobile chips from Intel struggled to do.
Lenovo IdeaPad Touch P1: Design & Build
The IdeaPad P1 is 0.6 inch thick and weighs almost 2 pounds, thus being rather on the chubby side, especially in comparison with the iPad 2. It has a corporate feel to it, with a black bezel and a chrome like strip going around the thick body, while the back comes in a surprising orange finish.
Lenovo IdeaPad Touch P1: Memory & Screen
Besides the 1.5 GHZ processor, you can have as much as 2 GB of RAM, a 64 GB SSD, while the display has a 1280 x 800 resolution and supports multi touch gestures- no word if the panel is IPS, though.
Lenovo IdeaPad Touch P1: Connectivity & Camera
In terms of connectivity, the base model comes with WiFi and Bluetooth, while the more expensive version comes with a 3G module. The slate has a single, front facing, 2 MP camera, probably good enough for some video calls with those serious bosses from Japan. There’s also a USB 2.0 connector and a card reader.
Lenovo IdeaPad Touch P1: Battery & Software
While the battery should go on a single charge for a maximum of 5 hours. There’s no word about software, but we can expect a bunch of productivity and security apps to be installed alongside Windows.
Lenovo IdeaPad Touch P1 Malaysia Release Date & Price:
There’s no price attached to the slate yet, but considering Lenovo usually delivers expensive gadgets and this one is aimed at the corporate niche, a minimum of RM3000 might be required to get your hands on it. Hopefully Lenovo will find a way to make the low power hardware feel snappy.
More detail review will be coming soon!
