While the tablet resurgence has eased off somewhat, some brands now have new models every year or so. One of them is Lenovo with its Lenovo Legion Y700 tablet, which has just launched a 2024 edition. Here's an overview of what it has.

The Lenovo Legion Y700 (2024) is an 8.8-inch flagship-class tablet with a mid-range price tag. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of fast UFS 4.0 storage. Like its predecessors, its display is an 8.8-inch IPS panel with a 2560x1600 max resolution. It also has a 6550mAh battery, two USB-C ports, two rear cameras (13MP+2MP), and an 8MP front camera.

According to Lenovo (on Weibo), the design is also largely identical to last year's model. Of course, there are other changes besides the chipset and RAM. First, the refresh rate has been upgraded to 165Hz (from 144Hz). Next, an Ice White variant is now available for people who can't stand fingerprint smudges. In addition, a large 10004mm2 vapour chamber was added to keep the tablet cool while gaming.

While the two Legion Y700 tablets were never launched in Malaysia, Lenovo might change its mind about this particular model. The Lenovo Legion Y700 (2024) is now available in China in Carbon Black and Ice White versions. Retail prices start from 2899 yuan (~RM1700) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at 3299 yuan (~RM1932).
