For most, the screen or processor is usually the spec people would focus on when buying tablets. But if aren't fussy about image quality, what else could a tablet offer? According to Lenovo, you might want eight JBL speakers.
Yesterday, Lenovo announced the new Lenovo Tab Plus. The company calls its latest tablet "a music lover's dream tablet", as it has eight speakers and is tuned by Dolby Atmos. We've seen dual speakers in smartphones and quad speakers are common in tablets. But eight is a lot of speakers, so we can expect it to sound pretty impressive (and loud).

The eight speakers consist of four matrix tweeters and four force-balanced woofers. Lenovo has confirmed that the tablet outputs 26W of stereo sound. For those who prefer wearing audiophile headphones, it also supports high-res audio of 24-bit and 96kHz frequency. As a bonus, you can also connect a phone to the tablet and use the latter as a Bluetooth speaker.
Besides the speakers, the Lenovo Tab Plus is a relatively decent lower mid-range tablet. It packs a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and an 11.5-inch 90Hz LCD screen (2000x1200 resolution). There's also an 8MP rear camera and 8MP front camera, but you probably won't be actively taking photos with them. The tablet also has a 8600mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging.
As for the price, the Lenovo Tab Plus retails for USD289.99 (~RM1368). Lenovo said it's available in "select global markets", but a Malaysia release hasn't been confirmed.
