Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, Yoga Slim 7 Pro & IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook release: AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile Processors, starting from ~RM1783

Recently, Lenovo just unveiled a wide range of products during the Tech World 2021 event. In this news article, we will be talking about the company's latest Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, Yoga Slim 7 Pro and IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. Prices were announced too but not locally, so we will get to that later.

For starters, the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon features an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U Series Mobile Processor with AMD Radeon Graphics. Additionally, it's also available with optional NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics, RAM with up to 16GB LPDDR4x, and up to 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD. With a 61WHrs battery + dual charger, a single charge for 15 minutes from the Rapid Charge Express allows you to use the laptop for three more hours.

Besides that, the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon also sports an OLED panel by Samsung Display with four narrow bezels. Although it's only 14-inches, the resolution is 2.8K (QHD+), Dolby Vision certified and a VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 for enhanced video quality in 16:10 aspect ratio. The refresh rate is fixed at 90Hz and you can opt for a touch screen display experience.

As for the Yoga Slim 7 Pro, it sports a larger 16-inch QHD IPS touch screen. The screen panel also supports the same 16:10 aspect ratio as well as Dolby Vision, VESA Certified DisplayHDR 400 but with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz. Internal performance is high-end as expected as it is powered by up to AMD Ryzen 7 5800H Mobile Processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX3050 GPU, up to 16GB dual-channel DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of storage PCIe M.2 SSD and a 75WHr battery with Rapid Charge Boost.

The IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook

Last but not least, the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook is a 2-in-1 detachable laptop that runs on Chrome OS. Featuring a 13.3-inch OLED display, it also has a true colour via 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. The battery life is said to last up to 15 hours with a 42WHr battery (but results may vary depends on usage). Moreover, it uses a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor, up to 8GB LPDDR4x of RAM and up to 256GB of eMMC SSD storage.

At the moment, there's no official local price yet but here's the price tag for each model:

  • Yoga Slim 7 Carbon - $1289.99 (~RM5349)
  • Yoga Slim 7 Pro - $1449 (~RM6009)
  • IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook - $429.99 (~RM1783)
