At a simultaneous event in Mexico and India, Lenovo announced the latest addition to the Moto family, the Moto G4. However they did not announce just one model – they announced three. It shares some similarity in design with the older models, so will the new internals give the new Moto models enough boost to put it above the pack?

The first model is the Moto G4, which now comes with a 5.5 inch 1080p display. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, and multiple memory/storage combo ranging from 2GB/16GB all the way to 4GB/32GB. Joy of joys – it comes with a microSD slot for storage expansion. It has a 13 megapixel shooter at the back and a 5 megapixel wide angle shooter on the front. Power is derived from a 3000 mAh battery inside.

The next one is the Moto G4 Plus, which ups the ante a bit. It shares some specs like the processor and memory/storage combo, but it ups the rear camera to 16 megapixel and includes a finger print scanner on the front that also doubles as the home button. It has a 3000 mAh and unlike the rest, it comes with a Turbo Charger in the box. It can put 6 hours worth of juice in just 15 minutes.

Last is the Moto G4 Play. This is the baby and the lowest specced model of the bunch. It has a 5 inch screen with a 720p resolution display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410, 2GB or RAM,  16GB of storage and a 2800mAh battery.

For pricing – the Moto G4 will have a sticker price of USD 243 (~RM 976) and the Moto G4 Plus will be priced at USD 286(~RM 1150). Lenovo Malaysia has yet to announce any plans to bring these models locally, so if there any news we will share it here on TechNave as soon as it appears.
