In a recent interview, head of Instagram Adam Mosseri has mentioned that they will be testing out a small change that hides the “likes” counter on Instagram in the US. Adam has mentioned that at the start of the test, only a selected number of users in the country will be tested for now.
The reason why this change is being implemented is due to the fact that he wants to “depressurize” Instagram, by driving attention more towards the content than the number of likes on the post. With all that said, there is no official information as to when the changes will be implemented in Malaysia.
