For many people, the mouse remains one of the more important control devices and can't be replaced by a touchscreen or stylus. However, many of the mice currently available can't actually be used everywhere as some surfaces like glass affect the sensor of these mice. The Logitech Anywhere MX Wireless Mouse was one of the few mice that could be used over nearly all surfaces, glass included and this year we get the next iteration of this series with the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 Wireless Mouse. Does it improve upon the features of its predecessor? Is it the wireless mouse to get for those who need to work anywhere and everywhere? Check out our full review of the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 Mouse below to find out.

Design, Tech Specs and Features - Multiple connectivity and up to 3 device switching

Fitting nearly flawlessly into the natural curves of the hand the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 Wireless mouse is just about the right size for a mouse, not too big and not too small. While it does have side buttons on the left side for right handers, the mouse fits both hands perfectly, so even if you're a lefty, you should enjoy the feel of the MX Anywhere 2 mouse. The overall look and feel is awesome with patterned rubberized material along the sides for even more comfort. On the bottom, four pads allow the mouse to glide fairly smoothly while there is also the switch button, connect button and the Easy-Switch button for up to three devices. The Logitech Darkfield Laser sensor is also located at the bottom. On the top is a fairly smooth scroll wheel which is silent for the most part but still has that ratcheting feeling as you scroll it up or down while a customizable function button is placed below the scroll wheel. The standard left and right mouse buttons click nicely while on the front there is a micro USB port to charge the built-in battery.

Build quality is excellent for the most part, except perhaps where the two plastic sides meet right below the Logitech logo where it is a little rough and uneven. The mouse works with both Bluetooth as well as 2.4GHz wireless but you'll need to plug in the nano USB receiver for the latter. You can also install the software to customize the three custom buttons along with a few other settings like DPI and so forth.

Performance - Long-lasting Portable Precision

Performance-wise, the mouse feels awesome with very precise controls with a smooth glide. The Darkfield Laser sensor lets you use it on a glass desk, even the reflective mirror like type along with metal, a bed sheet, the skin of your palm, the tile on the wall or any other surface you can think of, which should be perfect for those of you who travel a lot. The built-in battery holds a charge for quite a long time and even with continuous use did not require a recharge throughout our 2 week testing period. According to Logitech, you'll only need to recharge after two months and the built-in battery is rated to last years before needing a replacement. The mouse switches quickly and easily between the three devices it is paired with and also switches between Bluetooth and wireless with ease.

Conclusion - One of the best wireless mice you can buy

Overall, the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 Wireless mouse is one of the best wireless mice you can buy. Despite the RM280 or so price tag, it is one of the few devices where you get more than what you pay for and should be perfect for those who travel and need to be productive while on the go. We did not find any issues with the mouse as it was both smooth and responsive yet precise enough to do detailed work. We didn't notice any lag either, so you could probably use it to game as well, especially considering the three custom buttons strategically located on the mouse body. In answer to both of our earlier questions, yes, the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 Wireless mouse delivers on both counts and is an excellent all round wireless mouse.
