Looks like Redmi smartphones released this year won't come with an LCD display?

It seems that Redmi’s product manager might have confirmed that Xiaomi had no plans to release a Redmi smartphone that’s equipped with an LCD display. That said, all of the smartphones released under the Redmi lineup will come equipped with an OLED display instead.

This largely due to the fact that OLED displays have slowly become the standard for mid-range smartphones due to their benefits over LCD displays. These include better colour reproduction, and it requires less power in order to reproduce darker colours.
