MCMC: Don’t spread fake coronavirus news, you could get fined up to RM100K, jailed or both

There’s been a lot of news about the Wuhan Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov) and not all of them are true. MCMC and the Ministry of Health Malaysia have both come out with statements about the spreading of fake coronavirus news. Basically, check your sources first before spreading it.

On top of stopping the spread of unnecessary panic, Police have chimed in as well that they’ll track down those who spread fake coronavirus news with . If convicted, you could get fined up to RM100K or thrown into jail for 2 years or both. 

Police went on to say that 4 individuals have already been identified. Unfortunately, at the rate that we’re seeing fake Coronavirus news cropping up, we fear that that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
