The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) will work together to immediately resolve the problem of Internet access in several campuses of Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTA). So, what should you know about it?
For your information, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the problem had been discussed in today's Cabinet Meeting. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ordered it to be resolved immediately, given that the new academic semester will start soon.
According to him, the solution to the issue involved the Internet network infrastructure provided by the service provider vendor on the campus involved. In another development, Fahmi said MCMC had today filed a police report regarding a social media account believed to be selling drugs openly on the TikTok platform, as it went viral recently.
In addition, he said MCMC has also reported the matter to the TikTok operator and the account and its content cannot now be accessed in Malaysia. He also asked the MCMC to widen the search to identify any other party trying to sell the banned substance on all social media platforms. We have yet to confirm other details. Hopefully, everything will be resolved soon.
