MCMC investing up to RM116 million to have 5G tested in 6 Malaysian states

The MCMC chairman has announced very recently, stating that up 32 5G sites across 6 states such as Kedah, Perak, Penang, Selangor, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur will be operational starting October 2019. Since it is a test, the sites mentioned will remain operational for as long as half a year to demonstrate it’s usage in agriculture, education, digital media, healthcare, manufacturing, oil and gas, smart cities, transportation and tourism.

To be more specific, there are a total of 55 use cases in which the 5G network will be tested on including smart traffic lights, smart parking, remote diagnostics, vehicle tracking as well as 5G 360 panoramic surveillance. With that all said, we are one step closer to becoming a country that is fully connected via 5G network.
