Today, MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Comission) has released a statement notifying the public not to share any videos related to the Christchurch Mosque massacres which have just happened in New Zealand, in the afternoon earlier today. They have also noted that the sharing of the video is considered an offence under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, so you could be prosecuted if found guilty.

During the massacre, the suspect has been reported to have livestreamed the entire ordeal onto social media via a headcam. Relevant authorities are currently scrambling to bring down any duplicates of the video, to ensure that it does not further incite panic in the public. If you have already shared such a video, delete them from your group and let everyone else know or share this link with them.

It is believed that up to 49 victims were shot dead, and many more injured with some as young as a 4-year-old child. Upon further investigation, it appears that one of the vehicles was carrying an improvised explosive device which could have been devastating if used. Our hopes, as well as our prayers,  go to those who are affected by this unfortunate event.
