MCMC to start a probe into scam advertising
For your information, the MCMC will also begin an investigation into the scam advertising on social media. MCMC said that as of early November 2025, MCMC had made 157208 requests to take down advertisements for illegal activities online, and 44922 were fraudulent advertisements.
Besides that, the public expected to see various pictures of celebrities and influencers used in these scams and fraudulent advertisements. MCMC said the amount on the Meta platform was much higher than others. MCMC also stressed that if it is proven that the platform intentionally aids or abets in illegal activities, appropriate action will be taken.
