MOH: MySejahtera check-ins no longer mandatory starting from 1 May 2022

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that MySejahtera check-ins will no longer be mandatory in order to enter premises or public areas. This latest Covid-19 SOP leniency will be in effect starting from 1 May 2022.

Announced by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin at a press conference today, MOH also said that entry to premises will also be permitted regardless of vaccination status. However, Covid-19 positive cases and those under HSO are still prohibited from entering premises.

However, premise owners are still required to check on visitors’ risk status on MySejahtera despite the leniency given. This annoucement comes after Khairy previously teased that several leniency will be announced by MOH today.

Besides MySejahtera check-ins being no long mandatory, Khairy also announced today that face masks are no longer mandatory outdoors, but is only optional starting 1 May. Nevertheless, mask-wearing is still mandatory indoors and encourage in crowded places for high-risk individuals.
