The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that the appointment system on the MySejahtera app has been expanded to all primary health facilities beginning New Year’s Day (1 January 2023). This measure was made in order to improve service efficiency and client access at the health facilities.

Its Minister, Dr Zaliha Mustafa asserted that the appointment system aims to assist primary health facilities to arrange service schedules based on their respective capacities. Furthermore, the system would also avoid congestion at registration and waiting points due to long waiting times.

Taking to its official Facebook page, MOH announced that 8 services will be included in the appointment system. These services are:

  • Outpatient treatment
  • National Health Screening Initiative (NHSI)
  • PeKa B40 health screening
  • Pre-employment/pre-study health screening
  • Pre-marital screening
  • Smoking cessation services (KBM)
  • Family planning services
  • Procedures such as wound treatment, tube replacement and others

Accordingly, the expanded MySejahtera appointment system has commenced at 673 health clinics in phases, starting with NHSI screening, PeKA B40 and KBM. The other services will be expanded to these health facilities in stages.

Dr Zaliha shared that one of the advantages of the MySejahtera appointment system is that customers can plan their visits to primary health facilities according to their suitability. Moreover, they can also easily change the appointment date through the app without having to call the health facility.

Besides that, the appointment system also has an automated reminder function so that customers attend according to their booked time and date. Bookings can already be made as of yesterday, though the appointments must be from 1 January 2023 onwards.

However, for emergency, fever or infectious disease cases, people can go straight to the primary health facility, without having to make an appointment first.
