MOH temporarily shuts down its official website after hacking incident

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has temporarily closed its official website to update and improve its cybersecurity features. This measure was taken following a cyber attack on 27 June 2026, when the website's homepage was hacked and replaced with threatening images and messages by a hacking group known as Mushr00w.

MOH advises you to avoid the website for now

For your information, MOH immediately removed the inappropriate display and announced that the site was undergoing maintenance. MOH also advised the public to avoid accessing the website for the time being and warned against clicking on suspicious links or downloading any files from the portal.

Moreover, MOH said that investigations and remedial actions are underway with relevant agencies following the cyber threat incident, with updates to be shared from time to time. So far, there is no indication that the incident has affected critical systems or caused a leak of sensitive data.

MOH is doing the right thing

Additionally, the ministry's health service system will also continue to operate as usual, as it is protected by a separate technology framework with strict cybersecurity controls. Personally, we feel MOH is doing the right thing by taking a step back and revamping its digital security right now. If anything, it is better to be safe than sorry.
