One of the major news that came out this year was back in October when MYAirline suspended its operation due to financial issues. Ever since then, the company has yet to fully settle refunds to affected customers, though a new issue has also arisen: Scammers pretending to offer compensation from the suspended airline.
Taking to its official Facebook account, MYAirline warned customers to stay alert against potential scams related to pending refunds. It added that there have been reports of individuals falsely claiming to be representatives of the company, reaching out to customers awaiting refunds for their flight bookings.
MYAirline further warned that these scammers employ various tactics, including phone calls, emails, or messages on social media platforms, to deceive customers into providing personal information or making payments under false pretences. Hence, the company advises customers to verify the source when receiving communication regarding refunds and to check for official email addresses or contact numbers associated with MYAirline.
Customers are also advised to avoid sharing personal information or disclosing financial details to any unverified sources claiming to be the company. Accordingly, customers are encouraged to reach out to MYAirline’s official customer service channels via [email protected] or call 03 8966 2522 for further assistance.
