Like many other countries around the world, Malaysia has started running clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccines. Currently, one of the vaccines our country will be procuring is from Pfizer. But MYEG has also announced that it will also be working with another company to bring in a COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the press release, MY E.G Services has joined hands with Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical (also known as Zhifei) to secure more COVID-19 vaccines for Malaysia. Specifically, MYEG's will gain sole distribution rights for Zhifei's vaccine in Malaysia. Besides that, the company will help ensure that clinical trials are compliant with the Malaysian Halal certification standards set by the Department of Islamic
Development Malaysia (JAKIM).

Once the Phase 3 trials are successful, MYEG will become secure a 3-year sole distribution right for the vaccine. It should be noted MYEG and Zhifei's joint Phase 3 trials will be one of the first in Malaysia and will follow requirements set by the Ministry of Health. Since JAKIM's Halal standards are internationally-recognised, the success of the trials should boost the acceptance for Zhifei's vaccine among Muslims around the world.

Hopefully, we'll be able to get more updates on the results in the coming weeks. But for now, do stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
