The Malaysian Esports Federation (MESF) has now officially joined a global network of over 100 countries to form a national team to compete in the Esports Nations Cup 2026 (ENC) . The country-based tournament is scheduled to take place for the first time in Riyadh from 2 to 29 November 2026.

This appointment is based on MESF’s excellent track record

The appointment of MESF by The Esports Foundation (EF) is based on their excellent record in managing the local ecosystem, including the success of winning the silver medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games and winning the IESF World Championship two years in a row (2024 & 2025).

As a National Team Partner, MESF is fully responsible for:

  • Forming a Malaysian national team for various game titles.
  • Oversee the competitive player selection process.
  • Providing a support structure to ensure our athletes are ready for the world stage.

Moreover, Amir Syafiq bin Abd Rashid was also appointed as the Malaysian National Team Manager to handle daily operations and team coordination throughout this tournament. Unlike the Esports World Cup (EWC) which focuses on clubs, the ENC is a biennial tournament that focuses on national pride. Malaysia is considered to be among the strongest competitors, especially in MOBA genre games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Honor of Kings .

With the value of the local esports market reaching RM1.6 billion by 2025, participation in the ENC is seen as an important step to strengthen Malaysia's position as a global esports powerhouse. As you can expect, more information regarding the full list of players and game titles to be competed in will be announced in the near future.
