Dr Alias said that while these vehicles can go as fast as 50km/h, PLANMalaysia feel that its speed limit should not exceed half of that at 25km/h. The Department is also figuring out how to adapt the use of micro-mobility vehicles to suit existing laws under local government authorities and the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

Dr Alias further stressed that the use of micro-mobility vehicles should be regulated instead of being banned as its usage are generally beneficial to the country. Particularly, these vehicles can reduce the carbon consumption and footprints of Malaysian cities.

PLANMalaysia is set to table the guideline to MOT and the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) when it is finalised. So, what do you guys think of the proposed 25km/h speed limit for micro-mobility vehicles?
