Frequent travellers probably know this by now, but our passports allow us to travel to many places. The Malaysian passport has so much coverage that it's even one of the best in the world. This was recently confirmed again by the Immigration Department.

Ranked 3rd

Earlier today, the Immigration Department of Malaysia confirmed that the Malaysian passport is now ranked in the world. This information can be found on the Passport Index website, which shows that Malaysians can travel to 174 countries without a visa. For reference, only three countries - the United Arab Emirates (179), Singapore (175) and Spain (175) - have better passports.

According to the Immigration Department, the Malaysian passport ranking reflects international trust and recognition. Mind you, the top 5 ranked countries have similar numbers of visa-free countries, with 15 other countries sharing Malaysia's 3rd ranking. Regardless, this is proof that Malaysians can travel almost anywhere without needing to apply for a visa.
