WhatsApp has been bringing in a slew of features over the past few months. This includes new privacy features, 2GB file sharing, emoji reaction to messages and more. Finally, WhatsApp Communities has arrived and Malaysia is one of the first countries to get early access.
To refresh your memory, WhatsApp Communities functions similarly to a WhatsApp Group but is more organized allowing members to share information. There are also new tools for admins that allows them to control which Groups can be included in a Community, and the option to start smaller discussion Groups on certain topics.

Aside from that, the admins in the community group can also send announcements to all members through an announcement Group, as well as add members or via an invite link, and of course, remove members. The WhatsApp team also assured that whether it's Groups or Communities, they are protected with end-to-end encryption.
If you are wondering how Communities can serve Malaysians, it can be used for schools, organizations, neighbourhoods, SMEs and many more. All in all, it's meant to make WhatsApp Group chats less cluttered and confusing, and help everyone to stay updated.

The early access is rolling out as we speak but what do you think of this new feature? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
