Building upon the foundation of the previous Sustainability Achieved via Energy Efficiency (SAVE) program, Malaysians can now get an up to RM400 rebate off of energy star 4.0 and above electrical appliances with the SAVE 4.0 initiative. Recently announced by Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister, SAVE 4.0 will allocate RM50 million on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Upon further elaboration, the full RM400 SAVE 4.0 rebate would be applicable to those Malaysians who purchase an air-conditioning unit and a refrigerator with an Energy Star rating of 4 or 5 together. An RM200 rebate would be applied to the air-conditioning unit while another RM200 would be applied to the refrigerator for a total rebate of RM400 from a single electricity bill account. Set to target 250000 Malaysian households, it is available through recognized e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Lazada but you will need to chat with the Seller first to help apply for the SAVE 4.0 voucher.

This should be good news for those looking to buy a new air-conditioning unit or refrigerator soon although there may not be many who’d buy both at the same time. For more information check out their site for more details and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news on tech.
