Ever since we entered the Recovery MCO period, Malaysians were shocked at the amount of electricity bill they have to pay. Of course, they led to a huge complaint online as initially, the government did offer a discount during April onwards (with certain conditions). Thankfully, the Kementerian Tenaga dan Sumber Asli (KeTSA) looked into this and responded with good news.

According to their official Facebook page, they announced that the electricity bill discount is extended until the end of December 2020. Reading the official statement further, the discount varies from 2% to 50% so it will be different for the citizens of Semenanjung, Sabah and Sarawak. About 7.66 million homes in the Peninsula will get to enjoy 2% to 50% electricity discount, whereas the East (520K and 580K for Sabah and Sarawak respectively) only gets a 2% discount.
