Just earlier this week, Maxis has concluded their 3G SIM Swap Campaign and gave away RM1 million to those who had participated. The campaign first started in May, resulting 30 Maxis and Hotlink combined awarded for upgrading their 3G SIM card to a 4G SIM card.
Among the lucky winners was Encik Pakaruzi Daud, who got the call from Maxis while he was on the road. “At first I couldn’t believe it. I was driving and I received a call from Maxis’ 123 number informing me that I’m a winner. I checked Maxis’ website to verify that my name was listed. I then received a call to collect my cheque. I’m thankful to Maxis.” Pakaruzi also added that the prize money will go a long way in helping pay for his child’s education.
Another one was Puan Amiey Noor Fazrina, who was happy for her win, commented that her surfing experience since using 4G was “a big difference, as streaming has been much faster especially when watching YouTube.”
James Teoh, a long-time Maxis customer, said he never really thought about changing his 3G SIM to 4G SIM because he was already happy with the network, but after doing the SIM swap, he’s happier with the fast Internet experience.
