With Deepavali just around the corner, Maxis has launched new microsite called www.maxislightalife.my as part of its Light a Life campaign. Maxis Light a Life is an interactive dual-story film to help raise awareness about underprivileged youth, about how 4 out of 10 of them will fall into a life of crime and violence. With an interactive approach, viewers are able to switch to a parallel storyline that holds a promising ending.

“Following our #MySecondChance campaign last year, we are once again working with MySkills Foundation to reach out to underprivileged youth through our Light a Life campaign. For this campaign, we are empowering Malaysians through a creative digital platform to make a difference through donation and volunteerism,” said Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, Maxis’ Head of Consumer Business.

In conjunction with the launch, Malaysians can also take part of the campaign to personally touch the lives of MySkills youth. They can register via the microsite (www.maxislightalife.my) and extend their help in any of these ways:

  • Make a monetary donation
  • Volunteer to conduct talks in career development or industry training
  • Volunteer their time as a friend or mentor at any of MySkills institutes
  • Offer internships within their organisation
  • Host or sponsor skills training activities such as vocational trades or performing arts

“Connecting to those in need who want us to ‘hear’ them is never an easy task. By partnering with Maxis on their Light a Life campaign, MySkills Foundation is able to reach more youths, to make their tomorrow a better day,” said S.Pasupathi, Director of MySkills Foundation.
