Maxis has announced a new strategic partnership with Globe Teleservices Pte. Ltd. (GTS), a global telecom solutions provider, to deploy an AI-powered firewall designed to secure messaging and voice traffic across its network in Malaysia. This end-to-end, fully managed service aims to enhance network security, improve service quality, and safeguard millions of Maxis subscribers from fraud and spam.

Strengthening Network Security with AI and Machine Learning

The collaboration will see Maxis and GTS co-develop and enforce firewall policies for international messaging and voice traffic terminating on the Maxis network. At the heart of this initiative is GTS’s Armour firewall, a platform powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) that continuously analyses global traffic patterns to detect and mitigate threats in real time.

The system provides 24/7 monitoring and dynamic fraud prevention, capable of blocking spam, grey-route bypass attempts, and SIM farm operations. By stopping these large-scale fraudulent activities, the firewall ensures cleaner, more reliable communication channels for both individual and enterprise users.

Supporting Malaysia’s AI and Cybersecurity Vision

This collaboration not only fortifies Maxis’s network integrity but also aligns with Malaysia’s broader digital agenda, including national priorities under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), which emphasises cybersecurity and AI innovation as key enablers of digital transformation.

Through this partnership, Maxis and GTS are setting a new benchmark for secure, high-quality connectivity in Malaysia. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
