Are you a Maxis user and have been waiting for a 5G plan? Well, the wait is finally over, as the company confirmed that it has signed an access agreement with DNB. The company will have access to DNB's 5G network on a wholesale basis, and can soon provide 5G plans to its customers.

Today, Maxis announced that a range of 5G plans will go live tomorrow (15 August 2023). The plans will deliver more than double the 4G and 5G data, likely referring to existing Maxis plans. There will also be bonus 5G data, which could be available via add-ons. According to Maxis, the increase in data would help "meet the increasing digital needs of both consumers and businesses, especially for video content consumption and productivity tools".

While exact details of the plans will only be revealed tomorrow, Maxis did provide some info. For postpaid plans, prices range from RM70 to RM199, with 4G/5G data caps of up to 200GB. Postpaid customers can also get bonus 5G data of up to 100GB, unlimited SMS, and unlimited calls. Business postpaid is similar, but the bonus data (up to 100GB) will be for productivity apps. Maxis business postpaid customers will also enjoy RM10 rebates for up to 12 months and additional digital marketing solutions.

Hotlink will also have new 5G plans. First, there's a new Hotlink Postpaid 5G plan, with 70GB 4G/5G data for RM70 per month. Hotlink prepaid customers also get 5G access. They can opt for the RM15 per week Internet pass, which gives 15GB of 4G data and 10GB of bonus 5G data, or pay RM45 per month for 50GB of 4G data and 25GB of bonus 5G data.

Finally, Maxis Home WiFi will also get a 5G plan. The company will offer it under the RM158/month plan, which offers unlimited 4G and 5G data. Of course, expect the company's Fair Usage Policy (FUP) to apply. Moreover, the plan will include a premium 5G router with high-speed connectivity, so you don't have to get your own router.

Anyway, Maxis will unveil its new 5G plans at noon tomorrow. We'll also cover the announcement, so stay tuned to TechNave for that!
