Maxis wins Ad of the Year at the YouTube Ads Awards Malaysia

Just last Friday, the YouTube Ads Awards Malaysia celebrated and honored 2016’s most outstanding ad creatives on Malaysia’s most popular video platform, YouTube for its daily destination for entertainment, information and education. Presented by YouTube Malaysia, this first-ever award of its kind honored the brands and agencies, as well as the creators, whose creative works expand beyond marketing to capture the hearts and minds of viewers through creative execution and compelling storytelling.

The biggest winner of the night was Maxis, who brought home the Ad of the Year award for its entry ‘The Last Kite Maker’, which also won the awards for Best Tech / Telco Ad, Best Storytelling and Best Long Form Ad. ‘The Last Kite Maker’ tells the compelling story of Pak Shafie, who dreams of experiencing flight through the traditional kites he has been making for the last half century.
