Today, Maybank celebrates its fifth year of the MAE app. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Maybank has launched the MAE Turns 5 campaign — rewarding loyal customers with an attractive 5% p.a. return on funds deposited into their MAE Wallets. The company also revealed that it has facilitated over RM4 trillion in digital transactions since the launch of its MAE App in 2020.
Celebrating Five Years of MAE with Exclusive Rewards
The “MAE Turns 5” is a campaign to reward loyal customers with an attractive 5% p.a. return on funds deposited into their MAE Wallets. Starting on 30 October to November 30 2025, users can transfer a minimum of RM200 from a bank or e-wallet into their MAE Wallet. To qualify, they must enter the recipient reference “MAETurns5” when making the transfer.
Eligible customers will then earn 5% p.a. returns, calculated on a daily rest basis, from 30 October 2025 until 31 January 2026, as long as the deposited amount is maintained in the wallet throughout the campaign period. The maximum eligible balance is capped at RM4999.99 for users without the MAE Visa Debit Card, and RM10,000 for those with it.

The promotion operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with a total deposit pool limit of RM283 million. For instance, a customer who deposits RM10000 on the first day and maintains it until the end of January 2026 could earn approximately RM128 in returns at the 5% annual rate.
Championing Malaysia’s Cashless Transformation
As the first Malaysian bank to introduce QR payments back in 2017, Maybank has maintained its leadership in cashless innovation through Maybank Scan & Pay—allowing users to make and receive instant payments with zero transaction fees.
The adoption rate has skyrocketed, with the number of Scan & Pay transactions via MAE growing 51 times from 2020 to August 2025. The momentum continued in 2024, with a 26% increase in new merchant sign-ups, expanding acceptance among eateries and retailers nationwide.
Maybank reports that nine out of ten MAE Wallet users actively use the feature for their daily transactions, citing security and reliability as key reasons for trust. The MAE Wallet offers flexibility for users who prefer to separate spending from savings, with a limit of up to RM10000 and the same robust security that protects other Maybank accounts.
