
The increasingly popular local animation, Mechamato, is now entering the Chinese market, where it will be screened in the country via the Youku streaming platform. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, this development was announced by Monsta co-founder, Nizam Abdul Razak, through a post on his official social media channels. According to Nizam, the collaboration with Youku not only involves content streaming but also includes licensing and merchandising. He added that this is an important step in expanding the Mechamato and Malaysian brands globally.

Previously, Mechamato created history when the animated film managed to collect RM18.3 million in 11 days of screening, and increased to RM34 million after 4 weeks of screening. The animation also achieved success when it began airing on Netflix Japan in 2022. In 2023, Mechamato also received recognition through the Anime Fan Award at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival.
With its screening in China, Mechamato is expected to continue to strengthen its position as one of the most successful local animations to penetrate the international market.
