MediaTek has announced the MediaTek Dimensity 8200, its latest chipset that is built on the 4nm-class process for premium 5G smartphones. Offering flagship-level experiences at a more accessible price point, you can expect the SoC powering smartphones beginning this month, including the iQOO Neo7 SE.

In a press release, MediaTek claims that the Dimensity 8200 deliver unparalleled power efficiency by integrating an Octa-core CPU with four Arm Cortex-A78 cores operating at up to 3.1GHz. It also features a Mali-G610 graphics engine for better performance across applications.

Besides that, the chipset takes advantage of MediaTek’s HyperEngine 6.0 gaming technologies for smooth high frame rate gameplay without suffering connection drops, FPS jitter, or gameplay hiccups. Moreover, with MediaTek’s Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 technology, the device’s display refresh rate will be intelligently adjusted according to the detected game frame rate, which helps provide smoother viewing experiences.

There’s also an ultra-efficient Vulkan SDK to provide faster and more effective ray tracing effects and the SoC itself supports 120Hz WQHD+ and 180Hz Full HD+ displays. It also supports HDR10+ Adaptive support, 4K AV1 media decoding, and AI SDR-to-HDR video playback.

In terms of imaging, the Dimensity 8200 has a flagship-level Imagiq 785 ISP which allows the SoC to support 320MP photos and capture 14-bit HDR video on up to three cameras simultaneously. Furthermore, it also supports the recording of cinematic video by double camera capture for the most natural bokeh effect and has fast AI-noise reduction to retain fine details, particularly in low-light environments.
