MediaTek recently announced the Dimensity 8400, a premium chip that offers powerful AI performance in its class. The use of large cores with eight of them consisting of Arm Cortex-A72 CPUs at 3.25GHz is a key focus. At the same time, it can produce a 41% performance increase with 44% lower power consumption compared to the previous generation Dimensity 8300.
For your information, the Dimensity 8400 chip is also equipped with an Arm Mali-G720 GPU that offers 24% higher peak performance and 42% higher power efficiency. In addition, it also supports MediaTek Frame Rate Converter (MFRC) that optimises game and application performance in real-time. Also, the MediaTek NPU 880 enables the Dimensity 8400 to support LLM/SLM/LMM so that you can take advantage of the latest Gen-AI applications such as translation, Natural Language Processing (NLP), contextual replies, AI recording and media generation.
