It's all about AI these days, with hardware and software manufacturers designing devices to cater to that. Among them are mobile chip makers MediaTek, which has been designing chipsets to power AI platforms. In fact, the company's Dimensity 9400 chipset will arrive in Q4 2024.
MediaTek has announced that the Dimensity 9400 chipset will be revealed at a conference in October 2024. This is the company's latest flagship chipset and is expected to deliver improved AI performance. According to MediaTek (via Commercial Times), the Dimensity 9400 has 40% more AI performance than its predecessor. It will also be MediaTek's largest mobile chipset thus far, with 30 billion transistors on the 150mm2 die.
So, which smartphone will the Dimensity 9400 debut on? There hasn't been any confirmation, but sources claim that vivo could put the flagship chipset on its upcoming vivo X200 series devices. It may also find its way to the global version of the vivo X100. For your info, the vivo X100 Ultra has yet to launch outside of China, so that could be the model to get the Dimensity 9400.
Since the Dimensity 9400 has a massive improvement in AI performance, expect to see it included in phones focusing on AI. As such, including in vivo's X series smartphones makes sense because those are camera phones. But what do you think?
