MediaTek has been performing exceptionally well in the chip industry. The company's offerings are even going head to head against Qualcomm's flagships nowadays. However, let's not forget that the mid-range chips are the products that gave the semiconductor manufacturer its reputation. With that said, it's back with another new chip today, namely the Dimensity 1300.

The new chip is based on a 6nm process, featuring an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores (one Ultra, running up to 3GHz, and three Super, up to 2.6GHz) and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, scaling up to 2GHz. The graphics processor is a 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9.

With the chip, a device can support up to 168Hz displays at up to FullHD+ resolution, or 2520x1080px. It can also be paired with up to 16GB of 4266Mbps LPDDR4x RAM and supports UFS 3.1 type storage. Furthermore, the Dimensity 1300 can handle up to 200MP cameras and capture multi-person portrait mode video and 4K HDR video. There's hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding for faster 4K streaming as well.

According to the source, the chip could first appear on the upcoming OnePlus Nord 3. Therefore, we will have to keep an eye out on that to see if it's true. Drop a comment to let us know your thoughts on this new MediaTek chip, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for the latest tech report.
