MediaTek's latest MT9602 smart TV chipset debuting with a Motorola TV tomorrow

Not only good at making smartphone chipsets, but MediaTek is also supplying many high-end TVs with chipsets that are specifically made for them. Tomorrow, the Taiwanese chip manufacturer's latest product MediaTek MT9602 smart TV chipset will debut together with a new Motorola smart TV. Let's find out what the chipset does!

The MediaTek MT9602 consists of a quad-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. For graphics, it features the Arm Mali-G52 MC1 GPU. The chipset supports up to 2GB RAM and 4K resolution (3,840×2,160 pixels) at a 60Hz refresh rate. It will also work with popular HDR standards and video codecs like HLG, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, AV1, AVS2, HEVC, VP9, H.264, and SHVC 4K60@10bit video decoding with H.264 encoding.

Furthermore, its connectivity features will include HDMI 1.4/2.0 with HDCP 2.2, HDMI 2.1a, and USB 2.0. For audio, there will be support for Dolby Atmos decoding and 4x directional microphones. The chip also comes with MediaTek's technologies like the AI-PQ, AI-AQ, and AI-Voice.
