Technologies nowadays are advancing rapidly and this goes the same for smartphones too. Just recently, popular leakster Digital Chat Station just read some technical data about MediaTek's next chipset and it's said to be more powerful than the Snapdragon 865 chipset.

From the Weibo post, the specs sheet revealed that the upcoming MediaTek chipset is called the Dimensity 1200. It is made in 6nm and has a higher frequency core than the Snapdragon 865 chipset, so in comparison, that means it's over 2.84GHz. Previous sources have claimed that the Dimensity 1200 chipset could have its prime core (A78) clocking in at 3.0GHz, whereas the other 3 cores at clocked at 2.6GHz. Meanwhile, the other 4 cores (Cortex-A55) at clocked at 2.0GHz.

As a new chipset, Digital Chat Station also said that the Dimensity 1200 chipset has a better 5G modem alongside an improved Image Signal Processor which is expected. Some Chinese branded phones have already begun using Dimensity chipsets, such as OPPO, realme, vivo and iQOO. Dimensity smartphones are rarely seen outside of China as well, but we may see it appearing in Huawei and HONOR smartphones in the future.

At the moment, the only Dimensity smartphone in Malaysia is none other than the realme 7 5G. We haven't really tested its strength that much yet (really busy) but we will get there. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
