After launching the flagship 4nm Dimensity 9000 chip, MediaTek still hasn't finished its job as it has a mid-range chip pending. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the semiconductor manufacturer could soon launch the 5nm Dimesnity 8000 to power next year's mid-range devices.

It's said that the upcoming chip will comprise four Cortex A78 cores that clock in at 2.75GHz and four Cortex A55 cores that have 2.0GHz clock speeds. There could also be a Mali G510 MC6 GPU for the graphics. Furthermore, the tipster added that it supports FHD+ displays with up to 168Hz refresh rate or QHD+ displays with 120Hz refresh rate. Other features include support for LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage and up to 75W fast charging.

The chip could also first appear in some Redmi and realme devices, claimed the tipster. However, we are likely to meet the devices with Dimesnity 9000 before that happens. If nothing goes wrong, the first batch of those devices will come out in Q1 2022. We also can't wait to get our hands on them as MediaTek is said to have done a good job this time in terms of performance.
