MediaTek has officially announced the Dimensity 800U mid-ranged with 5G support, which uses the 7nm manufacturing process. While not much is known in regards to which smartphone will come equipped with the aforementioned chipset, MediaTek did mention that it will most likely make an appearance outside of China starting Q3 2020.
To go into more detail, the chipset is able to support up to 120Hz refresh rate at FHD+ resolution, supports up to 4 image sensors with a maximum of 64MP, and the CPU performs 11% faster while the GPU performs up to 28% faster than the Dimensity 720 chipset. Also, the display supports HDR10+ playback as well as MiraVision PQ engine in order to provide the best experience while viewing video content.
