In September last year, we reported on how MediaTek will be mass-producing a new mobile processor using TSMC’s 3nm technology in 2024. Now, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed that this SoC would be the Dimesnity 9400 and gave further alleged details on the processor.

Taking to Weibo, the tipster claimed that not only would the Dimensity 9400 be MediaTek’s first 3nm SoC, but it would also be manufactured using TSMC’s second-gen 3nm process. The first process, known as “N3B” is touted as the first-gen and was used for Apple’s A17 Pro and M3 SoC processors.

As for the second-gen process, it’ll be known as “N3E” and produce better yields than the first-gen process. Besides that, Digital Chat Station also claimed that the SoC will rely on ARM’s CPU and GPU designs. Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet.
