Melaka will be the first state to introduce the "Digital Grave" system to improve the management of traditional cemeteries. So, what should you know about it?
Easier navigation and identification for heirs and families
For your information, Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh said this initiative will number old graves to make it easier for heirs to identify the location of their family members' graves. Kampung Pulau was chosen as a pilot location before expanding to the entire state.
According to him, many old graves do not have clear markings and heirs now rely on natural structures such as trees. So, this numbering system will provide a more specific and accurate position.
This program was launched in conjunction with the 'Semanis MABIMS Seharum Serantau' Community Programme, which was also attended by religious ministers from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
