In April 2024, Meta AI was announced and will soon be available on Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Malaysia was not part of the first wave back then, but Malaysians will soon have access to Meta AI.
In a new update by Meta today, Meta AI will be expanded to more countries and languages by the of the year. It is now rolling out to Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom, plus support for Tagalog. As for the Malaysian market, no date has been specified yet, but it's in the same group as our neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Middle East.
To recap, Meta AI can be accessed on your Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Messenger easily by tapping on the Meta AI icon or typing @Meta AI in a group chat. A meta.ai website will also be available for Malaysia this year, which users can use to get helpful tips and how-tos.
