Meta recently announced their new “budget” smart glasses or Meta Glasses for USD299 (~RM1239). While they have made these themselves, they are still partnering with EssilorLuxottica (they own Ray-Ban). Compatible with prescription lenses, there are 26 styles with some designed by Kylie Jenner and they are all currently available, just maybe not in Malaysia for now.
Other tech specs, features and details
Utilizing Muse Spark for the Meta AI, these new Meta Glasses are activated by touch controls on the side as before and then carry out your voice commands. They still have cameras on the side to record video and take pictures, but the new Meta Glasses will come in various colours and premium materials.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, the new design will be semi-transparent with 3 frame styles, namely Meta Adventurer, Meta Fury and Meta Glasses by Kylie. The tech involved include open ear speakers, advanced wind noise reduction, a multi-mic array and over 8 hours of battery life. There’s also an on-the-go charging case for up to 40 hours of additional battery life. These Meta Glasses will support 14 new languages including Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi and Korean for real-time translation.
There’s still no official local Malaysia release dates or pricing details, but you can get them from third-party sellers. They’re also significantly more affordable than the usual smart glasses which cost around RM2K or so, but that’s before any shipping costs are involved. What do you think? Do you want a pair?
