Several parties are ready to bring and open research divisions in Malaysia. Most recently, Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) announced a collaboration with Meta in establishing an RTC in Malaysia. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, Meta is the company behind Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads and Meta AI services. This collaboration with DNB is an effort to improve voice and video connectivity on the Meta platform. The RTC will also focus on efforts to strengthen the quality of experience for real-time communication services on social media platforms while also taking advantage of 5G networks.
Moreover, the collaboration was announced during the MWC 2025 event held this week, and both parties will discuss further to finalise the terms of the proposed collaboration. Ken Tan, Chief Technology Officer of DNB, expressed his enthusiasm for the proposed collaboration:
“We are excited to collaborate with Meta to establish this joint innovation lab in Malaysia. By working together, we can drive innovation and deliver unparalleled service quality to our mobile network operator customers and, ultimately, their end-users. This cooperation reinforces our commitment to network excellence and customer-centric, continuous innovation.”
